Gil, wanting his father to be happy, pays off the townspeople to pretend the mayor is actually invisible. // Desperate to make science interesting to his peers, Flint creates the superhero alter ego "Major Science." When Mayor Shelbourne gets wind of the popular new superhero, he devises a way to oppose him....

When Sam decides she wants a cool nickname, she and Flint struggle to jump through the hoops required to earn it. They must appeal to the Giver of Nicknames to get their new names, but Sam's not happy with the one she's given. // Brent offers to rid Flint's lab of a squirrel infestation, but his "help" only makes the problem worse when he invites all his buddies into the lab, distracting Flint even more.

Flint thinks his new series of interactive science exhibits is making a difference, but he's actually just created a bunch of carnival rides. Sam thinks Flint's been talking behind her back, so she allows the charade to continue. // Flint gets jealous when Tim takes Brent (and a growing group of townsfolk) under his fatherly wing. However, they worry that Santa will hold a grudge against them once Christmas rolls around.
